Abstract

Bioinformatics has emerged as a critical tool in pharmacology, revolutionizing drug discovery and development through advanced data analytics and computational modeling. This review explores the pivotal role of bioinformatics in harnessing large-scale biological data to accelerate the identification and optimization of therapeutic agents. Key topics include the integration of omics data (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) in drug target identification, the application of machine learning algorithms for predictive modeling of drug interactions and toxicity profiles, and the utilization of structural bioinformatics for rational drug design.
